Overview

In the Winter of 2012, the club will offer an additional program to supplement its recreational player program.  A general overview is provided below.

Recreational
This program supports the more casual player not ready or interested in the demands of a more serious commitment.  Key characteristics include:

  • Players age U06 (PreK) thru U16 (10th grade)
  • Implemented by volunteer coaches and administrators
  • Training sessions usually (1) evening per week unless otherwise requested
  • In-house games up through 2nd grade
  • In-house games and/or league games for 3rd grade and older dependending on registration numbers and commitment level (the latter is very important as there are penalties for not honoring a league schedule once committed)
  • Fees cover basic costs to support program
  • Draws children primarily from Quaker Valley School District

Academy
This program supports the player looking for a more serious commitment on a season to season basis.  Key characteristics include:

  • U09 (3rd grade) and U10 (4th grade) both boys and girls
  • Professional coaches and administrative leadership
  • Winter Academy (Nov-Mar), Spring Academy (Mar-Jun) and Fall Academy (Aug-Nov)
  • Player required to commit by season, not by full year
  • Training typically 2-3 times per week
  • Competitive games and/or tournaments
  • Fees cover fees to support the program in addition to professional coaching services
  • Open to children across school districts up and down the Ohio River Valley west of Pittsburgh
