Welcome to the Ohio River Valley Football Club – The Sentinels!
We are a division of the Quaker Valley Recreation Association ("QVRA") www.qvra.org: a not-for-profit 501(c)3 corporation headquartered in Sewickley, Pennsylvania roughly 10 miles northwest of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA.
The Ohio River Valley Football Club ("ORVFC") is a volunteer-based organization that provides age-appropriate developmental soccer training and competition for children between the ages of 4 and 14. The area we serve extends along the Ohio River Valley and its surrounding foothills from the borough of Leetsdale to Bell Acres to Ohio Township to Bellevue.
If you are interested in soccer as a sport for your child, young or old, novice or advanced, then please browse through our website to find many answers to questions that have been proposed by those like yourself in years past. Our goal is to provide a program that will increase the probability that someday your child will keep on playing soccer as an adult – either for fun or in a highly competitive league. To achieve this goal we continually work to evaluate our program design and organizational structure to insure that we are achieving our stated goals and we encourage feedback from our membership to aid us in this effort.
There are a number of "living" documents that we utilize to help define our philosophy and approach. Please read these to better understand who we are as a club.
These dcouments can be found under our Program Overview section.

"There is little to be gained, and much to be lost, by attempting to force young players into the full game before they are physiologically, biomechanically and cognitively ready for the activity. One of the fundamental goals of teaching is to ensure that every player has a high level of success."
